Description:
--SOLD, pending funds--Colt Artillery model single action army revolver. 45 cal, 5 1/2" barrel. Matching serial numbers on frame, & both front & back straps, # 114966. Factory letter says it was delivered to US Inspector at the Colt plant on Sept, 23, 1885. It was returned to Colt "to have worn parts replaced, exterior refinished, reassembled without attention to matching part numbers & redelivered to the US Inspector at the Colt Plant on October 4, 1895". It is unusual that this gun remained with matching numbers, as most Artillerys do not. Overall grey metal, light adderss on top of barrel, but readable. D.F.C. on bottom of barrel, US stamped on frame next to patent dates. Grips look to be original, but have been refinished. Overall a very decent original Artillery model. 35.00 to ship.
