#82041, Heym 450 3 1/4" Nitro Express Model 88B Safari with a Factory Original Spare Set of 12 Bore Barrels, Made 1988 as a 458 Win. Mag. and our shop chambered it and regulated it for the 450 3 1/4", It is made with their Anson type action with overhead sears, Safety sears and a Greener type crossbolt action body, The piece is with 25 1/2" Ejector Krupp Shoe Lump barrels with a 1/4 rib, 1 standing sight, Fold-up night sight, Double triggers with the front articulated, Bolstered frame, Scalloped action back, Cocking indicators, Locking screws on key screws; The factory original spare 12 Bore solid rib barrels are 28 3/8" Ejector at .730" .019 & .046" (Mod. & Full), Original 2 3/4" chambers, The 12 Bore barrels have their own forend & numbered 2, Both forends are semi to very slight beavertail, Shadowline cheekpiece, Sling eyes on both sets of barrels, 14 1/2" LOP over a 1" Silvers pad, 10 lbs. 10 oz. with the 450 3 1/4" barrels and 7 lbs. 12 oz. with the shot barrels, 14 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 2 11/16" as a shotgun, Cast-Off for the right hand, Typical 88B Safari hand cut 25% engraving coverage, Full length trigger guard tang found only on the 88B Safari to a steel grip cap, , Decent wood, It has 98% original barrel blue on the rifle set & 96% on the shotgun set, The wood is 95% with typical handling marks, The checkering remains at 99%, The bores are like new. Our shop has converted many 458's to 450 3 1/4" N. E. with great success. In the field of current double rifles the Heym, especially the 88B, is only one of two that our shop feels comfortable with to go the course with reliability and function over the long haul of serious shooting and African hunting. The 88-B Safari is Heym's flagship double rifle individually crafted by hand with a lot of options available. This is not the PH Model but there highest grade boxlock.
