#2478 Large English sash/belt Flintlock pistol by “H. Nock”, with 9” full round iron barrel of approx 70caliber, British proofed. Henry Nock was very well known and respected for his weapondry, both civilian and martial types. There is no fanciness to this large pistol other than having some brass furnishings with light decoration, and having a graceful rounded buttstock without a buttcap. It is of large military size, and likely was issued in either sea service or Cavalry service, since it has a rack number on the triggerbow indicating that it was in some military unit in the 1770-1820 era. May have even been carried in the American Revolution …..by EITHER side! VG+ $1195
