Description:
A Colt lightning with some history. This gun was once owned by Sheriff William Salsman of Old Linn Creek Missouri.He was the under sheriff from 1898- 1902. In 1914 he became Sheriff. Camden County Missouri has his records. I believe he was involved in a shooting while sheriff. You will not find Old Linn Creek on a map of Missouri because it no longer exists. When they built the dam it was covered by water. I have a booklet called Old Linn Creek before the dam. Obviously this will be included. I also have the holster. The gun is virtually mint. The blue is faded and the case hardening has silvered out. The grips are perfect and the action is as new. It has a mirror bore .38 cal.
