Mr Crone was an Indian agent for the Wind River Indian agency and a stagecoach driver between Rawlins and Walcott in Wyoming. He is mentioned in the book "Tough Country" written by Gay Day Alcorn. The gun was originally shipped to Simmons Hardware in St Louis on April 15, 1899. This was still a wild and wooley time in the old west. Wearing a 5 1/2" barrel and chambered in 38-40 with a bright and shiney bore, the action is tight as a drum. Still retains a generous amount of original blue. Comes with an original leather holster. Here's a true wild west revolver that was used but not abused. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Colt Model: SAA Serial Number: 185228 Caliber Info: 38-40 Condition: Fine Barrels: 5 1/2 |
