Description:
PENDING SALE-This is one of the 03 Springfield rifles "sporterized" by the NRA. They are characterized by the lack of a finger groove in the stock's forend, the Lyman receiver sight, the steel checkered buttplate, military sling, and serial number range. There are quite a number of variations to these rifle, or perhaps changes since their original build. This one as an El Paso Weaver C3 scope mounted in an Echo swing-out mount, with leather lens covers. The front sight is mounted on a ramp, unlike the usual barrel band mount.
The rifle is quite clean considering its vintage. The scope is clear, and the rifle shoots to point of aim of the scope and is quite accurate. A neat poiece of firearms history.
