This gun has James Rosier markings on it. He was an importer for Australia. This is one of the Pentridge Prison guard guns. Included with the gun is quite a bit of paperwork that talks about the Prison and these guns. Interesting history. The gun has the typical Pentridge appearance with the top of the bbl being scuffed and rounded from leaning against the prison walls. Most have a number on the elevator. This one is number 7. All are in pretty good cond. Plum/brown with traces of blue. Excellent markings. Fine bore. Crisp tight action. Orig sliding dust cover. Wood has a few dings and usual wear but no splits or cracks and no signs of refinishing. Clean little gun with the James Rosier markings just ahead of the elevator. These are fun to have. This comes complete with Cody research form. Leroy Merz Antique Firearms specializes in antique and vintage Winchesters and other fine American firearms.
