Description:
This is a Toronto-made cap (size 6 7/8) by A.B. Hewey Co. that has a navy blue felt crown with red piping and band along with a gilt Royal Artillery badge at the front. The thin black chinstrap is affixed with brass general service Canadian army buttons and the black patent leather peak has a wide embroidered bullion officer's band running along the edge. The peak has retained its shape but does have some minor heat damage along the top surface. The interior has a pale green satin lining with lozenge-shaped sweat shield (missing the celluloid) and a wide leather comfort band. The cloth has some minor staining from long storage, but the crown stiffeners are still in place and the cap rates very good plus overall. This is a handsome Canadian cap and would make a nice display piece.
