Description:
This is a U.S. Model 1864 stamped cartridge pouch that contains the original tin, and is maker marked on both side:"C.S. STORMS/MAKER N.Y." The leather is in very good shape, lightly crazed along the exterior with some flaking at the edges, and still quite supple. The tip of the heavily worn closure tab is missing and the interior pocket flaps have cracked with age. The original shoulder belt is no longer in place, rather a period leather waist belt, heavily worn and missing the buckle, is included. This is still a nice example of a maker marked Civil War cartridge box and would make a nice addition to a collection.
