Description:
Serial #64079, .455 Eley (Webley), 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. Only 122,800 commercial models were built. This revolver retains 80% plus of the original bright blue finish that has faded to bright gray at the muzzle-end of the barrel as well as along the raised edges and projections. The cylinder has a few scattered spots of minor freckling between the flutes and there is a small unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel. The hammer has smudges along the sides but retains most of the original blue, as does the trigger. The original checkered hard rubber grips are in very good condition with some small chips and impact marks on the toe of the butt, mainly on the right side panel, as well as some flattening of the points. The lock-up is still tight and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver was manufactured in 1914. This is a fine example of rather unusual WWI era Commercial New Service. FFL or C&R
