Description: This is a nicely made, private purchase, other ranks cap (approximately size 6 7/8) by Conway Williams of 7 Princes St., Hanover Square, London, that has a blue-black felt crown with scarlet piping and and embroidered mohair band, along with a tarnished Northamptonshire badge at the front. The thin black chinstrap is crazed and flaked along the edges, but still intact, and affixed with regimentally marked buttons, while the black patent leather peak has retained its shape, but does have some minor heat damage and scoring along the top surface. The interior has a gray satin lining with full surface celluloid sweat shield, and a wide leather comfort band marked with the owner's name at the front. The cloth has some minor staining from long storage, and has a slight forward tilt to the crown disk due to the front stiffener having detached at the base, but the crown stiffeners are still in place and the cap rates very good plus overall. This is a handsome cap and would make a nice display piece. SOLD Manufacturer: British Model: Cap |
