Description:
Beautiful 10ga hammer gun by W.Richards circa late 1880's.This classic has 30" damascus barrels that show at least 90% of the original damascus pattern. The locks are game scene engraved featuring pheasants and English scroll work. The barrels have excellent bores and are free of rust, pits,or dents. The barrels have Purdey double underbites and a Westley Richards type dolls head extension. The barrels are tight and on face and lock up with no play at all.The wall thicknesses average .050".The pistol grip stock has good shooting dimensions of 141/4" x 15/8" x 23/4".The weight is 10-0.The hammers are tight and strong and the triggers break clean. This is a classic big hammer gun that would be fun to shoot with light loads for pheasant, ducks,or turkeys. It would also make a fun gun for vintage shoots. It is an antique,so it can be shipped direct or to a C&R license. It comes with a nice condition leg o mutton leather case.
