Description:
Serial #6451, .455 Webley, 4” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a few tiny spots of freckling within the grooves about midway down. This early revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel with the metal retaining approximately 80-85% of the original blue finish that has flaked lightly at the muzzle on the left side, and silvered and faded along the raised edges, projections, and bearing surfaces. Crisp markings and Webley “Winged Bullet” trademark are present with gray fading along the gripstraps and some plum-brown freckling as well. The checkered hard rubber grips are in very good shape with some minor flattening of the points, as well as a few minor scratches and handling blemishes, and a narrow chip missing from the butt on the left panel. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a fantastic example of a rare, unmodified Mk. I Webley, and would make a great addition to any collection. Antique
