RARE MEXICAN WAR ADAMS U.S. NAVY FOWLED ANCHOR POWDER FLASK DATED 1846. RILING #863. 9 ½” o/a with top stamped “ADAMS” and government inspected with U.S. Navy Inspector LT. James S. Parker’s “J.S.P.” inspection stamp. Face of top also dated “1846”. Excellent condition and all original. Very fine motifs with embossing well defined. Top in working order and with original rings. Very slight seam displacement on one side barely noticeable. For general purpose use with not only for small arms but for use in priming small cannon, swivel guns and small mortars.
