Description:
A circa 1750 fine quality Flintlock pistol. Most likely of English origin. 50 caliber round 8 & 1/2 " barrel which has an octogon shape near the lock. Overall length is 13 & 1/2".No makers name visible. There is a proof mark on the lock: a crown over a "V".  All metal has a uniform patina, believed to be iron with traces of blueing. There is no rust  and very few blemishes of any kind. The action is strong and the hammer holds on half and full cock. There is a front and rear sight. There are long stirrups on the sides of the stock extending from the butt cap. The side plate  has some engraving. The full walnut stock is in wonderful  condition , extending from the butt to the end of the barrel. There are no splits, cracks, gouges, no wood missing, no repairs and very few marks of any kind.

An antique- No FFL required.

This could have been an officers pistol used in the American Revolution and could have been employed by either side in that conflict. The ramrod looks original and has a nice horn or ivory tip.

This weapon would make a handsome addition to anyones collection and should increase in value over the years (no matter what the stock market does).
