Sale pending : This is a Mauser K98 rifle built under contract for the Luftwaffe. It features the early walnut stock which has all the cartouches and is numbered to the action. The bore on the rifle is nearly excellent. All the numbers match and the bolt is an un-numbered armorer’ s replacement bolt. There isn’t a single number on the entire bolt. Headspace is fine and the rifle shoots quite well. The LSR mount was professionally installed and aligned to the bore as they are supposed to be. The scope is a very late war model made by Nickle and is windage and elevation adjustable. The optics are very clear, the reticule could use a cleaning. This a composed sniper, built on a very nice and clean K98 which is very shootable. This is not a Russian capture rifle or a Mitchell’s product. If you are interested in a neat rifle to play with on the range or at your local prairie dog town, or if you are into living history/re-enacting, this might be the rifle for you.
