These D/A solid frame revolvers were made by in England based on the English Adams&Kerr patent. They were quite popular during the Civil War by BOTH sides and about 100 of this configuration were also produced in the USA by Mass. Arms and are so marked on the top-strap. This revolver is the English-made Adams and has British proofs and has liberal amounts of original blue ranging from bright blue to a plum blue-brown patina on the frame.
