These very inexpensive large calibered simple and somewhat crude pistols were VERY popular in the mid-late 1840s and up through the American Civil War. They were very dependable with few moving parts and could be hidden in boots, great-coats, and saddle bags as a cheap secondary weapon at close quarters. This particular pistol is missing the simple strap steel triggerbow, but almost any loose triggerguard could easily be fitted if desired. Other than that, it is well above average for one of these cheapie Gold Rush Era weapons, just some light pitting here and there and really nice original grips. Except for the missing T/G, it is in VG+ condition. $135 SOLD Antique: Yes |
