- Note: This is a pre-war model 97, 12ga manufactured in 1940. The gun is in great condition mechanically. The full choke bore is bright. The gun is in original condition with the exception that the buttstock has been refinished and length of pull shortened to 13.5" over a Winchester red rubber butt plate. Typical of this period of Winchester, the receiver shows flaking due to carry. The barrel retain most of its original finish. Magazine tube shows typical rub wear from use. The front bead has been replaced with a period circular front sight. The left action flat bears the intials "F. H." A great gun for the field, especially if your name is Frank Hammer :)
