Parker 20ga. guns are amongst the most sought after of the vintage American side by sides. Some stand out from the rest as a result of desirable features that are near impossible to find, condition, or both. This gun, sn236426 made in 1934 is one of them. They made a few more than 10,000 VH grade Parkers in 20ga., but only 983 with 30" barrels, only about 500 with English style stocks, and less than 17% have ejectors (less than 1700 guns). Combine these features into one gun and you have a very desirable Parker! The metal work on this gun maintains factory original finishes, with lots of case color and blue. Check the photos closely at the muzzle end of the barrels, as there is a small patch of remnant surface rust on both the right and left side that has been cleaned off. Not at all bad, but it should be noted. The barrels have other light marks, all showing in the photos. To find a fine 20 gauge Parker with long barrels, 60% case color, excellent screws, ejectors, no cracks or repairs in the wood, nicely figured walnut, excellent mechanics, mirror bores, and good shooting dimensions is getting exceedingly difficult. This one is just in time for your upland bird season and the upcoming Vintage sporting clays shoots, and it matches up to the information in the Parker Serialization and Identification book, which shows it shipped with Straight stock, 30" barrels, and ejectors. When you handle this 6lb. 9oz. gun, balanced right on the hinge pin, it is plain to see why everybody loves a Parker! Guns that have English style butt stocks and long barrels are racy looking and always in high demand and short supply, making this a true investment quality firearm. Thanks for looking.
