Description:
Another variation of the Whitney rifle. This one is marked " Whitneyville Armory CT USA". Several versions of these were made. This one has a somewhat scarce Whitneyville bbl marking. Cal 44. Gun is almost entirely grey color and no doubt cleaned years ago. Metal is smooth and in good cond. Bore is pretty good with solid rifling. Some light pitting and roughness. Overall good to VG bore. Orig Whitney rear sight and rocky mountain blade front sight. Wood is better than what you would normally see on these. Whitney rifles are a good collectable and quite affordable.
