Description:
This is a small frame sporting rifle in cal 44-40 with serial number just over 1200. Nice figured wood on this Whitney. The presentation plaque is in the wrist area. On the left side it says "Phillip Williams Traverse City Michigan". On the right side is some scratching that is barely legible. This was done after the fact by a gunsmith or jeweler and a nice job was done. Generally these Whitney's don't hold the blue very well but this one has exceptional blue on the receiver. Bbl also has some blue althou it is thinning somewhat. A superb bore being VG+ to near excellent. A lot of eye appeal to this gun.
