Description:
This is a very nice veteran , bring back, from his military collection. He has since passed on.
This Dagger is an early German Luftwaffe Pilots Dress Dagger. The blade is 12" long and length overall is 17 5/8". It is stamped "SMF" , under the figure of the "SITTING KING". Under one side of the cross guard is inscribed, "12'2/FI.H K-31", and on the scabbard "12'2/FI.H K-43". The hardware on the Leather Scabbard is magnetic, but the chain is not . The scabbard is metal lined . The guard is not magnetic and is plated, as some of it is missing. The handle appears to be leather with fine wire wrapping, and is very tight.
