Description:
Serial #341, 3mm Pinfire Blank, 2” barrel. This is an exquisite, 1/3 scale revolver that retains virtually all of the original bright, fire bluing on the barrel, wedge, cylinder, and trigger. The frame and hammer retain a commensurate amount of the original silver plating with some very mild tarnish just starting to form on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. The walnut grip is likewise in excellent, practically new condition. The revolver is housed in its original, burgundy velvet-lined walnut case with two-piece brass powder flask, brass cleaning rod with turned walnut handle, and a miniature Eley cap tin. The revolver is fully functional (although the trigger is not designed to fold flat as on the full sized examples), and is mechanically excellent. Larry H. Smith is one of the country's most respected miniature firearms makers, and examples of his intricate work grace many impressive, high quality collections. Indeed, a 2015 dated letter from Mr. Smith himself accompanies this revolver in which he states that it (serial #341) was completed on December 20, 1988, and purchased two days later by Turner E. Kirkland, the founder of Dixie Gun Works. This is an absolutely beautiful little revolver and would make a spectacular (as well as spectacularly small) addition to any collection.
