Description:
Serial #729941, .38 S&W (.38/200), 6” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This nice revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, yoke, extractor, and barrel with the metal retaining 97-98% of the original blued finish that has faded very slightly at the muzzle and silvered along the projecting edges. There is a very mild turn-ring on the cylinder and a scratch on the RT sideplate and frame that is through the finish but not deep. The trigger and hammer have about 60-70% of the original bright color case-hardening remaining with traces of gray fading on the edges. The revolver is Canadian property stamped on the left side of the frame behind the recoil shield, there is a unit applied caliber stamp on the right side of the barrel, and there is an unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel (not visible with the cylinder in place). The checkered, diamond-center, S&W medallion grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and have light-moderate wear and handling marks (heaviest on the right panel) as well as some further scratches and small impact marks on the butt (both panels). The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a great Canadian .38 hand ejector in fine-near excellent condition and would make a fantastic addition to any collection.
