Description:
This is a USN “BuShips" marked gauge, ref. no. 10070-1A-A1, manufactured by the Eclipse-Pioneer Instrument division of Bendix Aviation Corp. The gauge has an adjustable direction indicator with pointer arrow and compass indicator graduations around the circumference of the dial face. The original radium lume on the graduations, numerals, and pointer hand has degraded over time to a characteristic mottled beige patina. The face and housing are in very good condition with minor scuffs and flaking on the metal housing, and the cut remnants of the original wire harness remaining attached on the back. This is a neat piece of World War II naval aviation memorabilia.
