Description:
S# 1116, 38 rim or center fire, 26 inch octagon barrel, bright very good bore with light patches of erosion in front of chamber. This rifle was built from the 1870's to about 1895 and it remains in excellent condition with 85% barrel blue mixed with scattered specks of staining and high edge wear. Hammer shows lovely fire blue finish, mostly on sides. The receiver looks great with over 95% aged nickel and a couple small specks of loss. Triggerguard retains 70% matching nickel with brown staining in areas of loss. Butstock has fancy grain with feathering at butt and shows light marks from use. Rear sight is a Stevens combined rear with notch and peep. Front sight is the combined front globe, the top blade is missing. The action was professionally converted to center fire and can be changed easily from rim to centerfire. Top tang has an added hole for a tang sight, this now holds a filler. A very attractive tip up rifle with original finish and sights, this will look great on the wall or at the range. Antique
