Description:
Inv. 5512 Walther P-38 (cyq Code), Ser69XX p. Mr. Minty does it again. Another 98-99% original factory finish blue/ gun. A very slight bit of muzzle wear, just a touch of sharp edge silvering, an occasional pin prick and that's it. The grip strap show no toning. This gun is late war production so there are a couple of pinpoint casting flaws which is common on the late war guns, however is doesn't have the crude machining marks usually found on the "cyq". All numbered parts match. The slide is stamped Eagle/88, Eagle/ Swastika, Eagle/88. The frame Eagle/88. The black Bakelite grips are flawless reflecting the general condition of the gun. The bolt face and feed ramp show no evidence of use. The bore,likewise is bright with razor sharp grooves and lands and really no signs of graying. The gun comes with one correct magazine stamped Eagle?88. Just a really lovely package particularly with the holster offered below. It doesn't get much better..... $895. The holster is stamped, "jin", dated 1942, Eagle/WaA145 and in large letters P-38. The holster appears to be well worn on the front edge of the flap and cover strap. There are no wear holes and all stitching is intact. I believe the wear is from someone who may have been in a tank of some sort of vehicle. The original bring back tag attached to the holster .It shows it was brought back by Sgt. Michael Polese his service number XXXXXXXX. and that the gun is a "German Pistol, P-38, 9mm". The pair were purchased from the owner's estate exactly as they came from his duffel bag. What a lovely story they hold...$150. if purchased with the gun. If purchased separately. $185
