Description:
.58 caliber, 32" rifled barrel dated "1846". Lock plate marked 'HARPERS FERRY 1845". Brass mounts, full length walnut stock with the U.S. inspector's initials on the left flat. Showing an even gray/gun metal color overall with some patches of roughness around the breech end of the barrel and bolster. The mounts show an even mellow patina, and the wood is very nice with only minor handling marks and free of and damage. Good rifled bore.
