SUPERIOR SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1871 REMINGTON’S PATENT ROLLING BLOCK ARMY RIFLE. .50-70 Govt. cal. 36” barrel. 100% original and superior condition with most of the case hardening on the frame and much blue on the sight and nice barrel finish with untouched patina. Excellent wood with all the original arsenal oil finish and a mint “ESA” Govt. Inspector’s cartouche for Erskin S. Allin. Beautiful markings with the frame stamped “EAGLE/U.S./SPRINFIELD1872” and “MODEL 1871”. Mint bore and perfect working order. Only 10,001 manufactured at Springfield Armory with royalties paid to Remington.
