CIVIL WAR PRUSSIAN S&C SUHL MODEL 1839 PERCUSSION RIFLED MUSKET CIRCA 1860. 57” o/a with 41” rifled .72 caliber barrel. Back action lock stamped “SUHL/S&C/NO. 74”. Brass mounts stamped “NO. 74” with Prussian proof marks. Steel butt plate regimentally stamped “F.S.R./F.B./IIIC/NO.74”. Very good plus and all original as converted (from smooth bore) at the time of rifling. Stock in excellent condition. Original sling swivels and old brass tip ramrod which is a probable period replacement. Used by the State of Kentucky during the Civil War and with a nice write up on the history of these muskets.
