Description:
This is a very nice Winchester, Model 1886 SRC in 40-82 WCf cal., with a 22" round barrel and full magazine. The serial number is 100207 and date of Mfg. is 1895. The wood is good as is the bore. I have known the whereabouts of this gun for the past 25 years. Apparently, sometime previous to that the left side of the receiver somehow got wet and may have started to rust, as someone cold blued the left side of the receiver only. apparently to protect it, rather than strip all. The other 3/4's of the receiver, the barrel, magazine and all other metal parts are original. The gun is a good shooter and well worth the money asked for it. These are very hard to find 86 SRC. The gun does letter with the Cody museum, ( BBHC).
