In addition to the large quantities lost in the war many just disappeared during the last 200 years. This big beauty is totally original, in excellent condition with all the original stamps or cartouches. The lock mechanism is totally functional and exhibits very little rust or pitting. It is clearly stamped "M. T. Wickham. Phila. The barrel which has an smooth brown patina is marked at the breach, F, P, And U S. The left side of the stock has what appears to be a small V over an interlaced GF. The barrel bands and all the furniture is in a state of lovely preservation. The stock appears to have retained much of the original lacquer finish. There are no cracks, splits or dings anywhere. This is a "right" musket that has the look of something that has hung on a wall and was well cared for all it's life. It is complete with the proper swivels and ram rod.
