#3611 Gallager Carbine Percussion
This one is still in percussion and the barrel retains 70% blue and the receiver 75% blue. This is part of the March 1865 contract that was delivered in May 1865. The mechanical function is crisp and tight; the bore is near excellent, bright and shinny. This is serial number 13,869 out of 17,728 and is a 50-caliber percussion breach loader. The Gallager saw extensive service among many cavalry regiments during the Civil War.
