BSA METFORD CHARGER LOADING LEE ENFIELD CLLE MK 1* STAR .303BRIT RIFLE & BAYONET. Serial number "659XX". .303British caliber. Right side of receiver stamped "BSA & M. Co./ 1895/ II" with Queen Victoria proof. Left side of receiver ring with improvement stamps "Enfield 1908 / C.L.L.E. / I*". "EFD" small stamp on trigger and brass buttplate. Matching bolt handle to receiver. Brass buttplate also stamped with regt. Marking "7LL" and "132" as well as EFD/64. Pop up peep on left receiver stamped "WD" and Crown over "63 and "B". Rear ladder sight also matching to serial number on rifle. Stock slightly sanded but all acceptance stamps are legible. Behind triggerguard appears various crown over number proofs. Excellent bore with crisp rifling. Some pitting at edges of barrel where wood meets steel. With correct bayonet.
