Description:
Canadian General Service medal with the Fenian Raid bar of 1870. This rare medal is named to George G. Rodbur service # 269 from the 3rd brigade of the Royal Artillery who was a gunner with the unit in Halifax Nova Scotia. There were 2 officers and 16 men to receive this medal with the 1870 bar. With this medal and from the same estate, is a silver King's prize badge from Halifax dated 1907. This silver maple leaf badge was struck for the Canadian Artillery Association. Built by J.R. Gaunt and Sons London. An interesting pair of Canadian medals awarded to artilleryman stationed in Halifax.
