Description:
This is an Indian Wars era, .45-70 cartridge box with embossed “R.I.M.” marking on the cover flap and Watervliet Arsenal maker marking on the back between the intact belt loops. The leather itself has crazed along the exterior with some flaking occurring on the flex points of the cover. The two-tiered wooden block has spaces for 20 cartridges and is marked “C.D.P.” in pencil along the lip of the upper tier. This is an uncommon, state marked cartridge box and is in fine condition overall.
