Description:
Serial #2077, .455 cal., 6” octagon barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some scattered spots of mild freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome commercial revolver that retains 60-70% of the original bright rust blue finish with the balance of the metal having a mellow plum-brown patina with spots of light surface freckling on the barrel and rear portion of the frame. The cylinder has some further spots of freckling, as well as a prominent turn-ring, and some small scattered impact marks and scratches. The Adams markings are clear and crisp along the top of the barrel: “ADAMS'S PATENT SMALL ARMS Co. 391. STRAND, LONDON”; and the patent markings are clear along the right side of the frame. The checkered walnut grip is in very good condition with some small handling marks, some very mild flattening of the points, and a small chip missing from the backstrap knuckle on the right side. The mechanism is fully functional and the revolver is in excellent condition overall. {Ref. “Adams' Revolvers” by W.H.J. Chamberlain & A.W.F. Taylerson; 1976} Antique
