Manton & Co. Falling Block Single Shot, .400/360, 8 lbs. 3 oz., 27" barrel engraved "Manton & Co. Gun Makers, Calcutta" with island rear sight with one standing and two folding leaves marked 100-300 yards, ramp front sight, bottom barrel mounted front swivel, Farquharson style falling block action finely engraved in Acanthus scroll work, top tang safety, tang mounted Lyman adjustable peep sight, original English walnut stock with horn forend tip, pistol grip with engraved steel grip cap, 15 3/8" LOP over a pad, rear swivel, vacant stock oval. English cordite proof marks. Rifle is in very good condition with a very good shootable bore with well defined rifling, wood has some light handling marks, all finishes have been maintained well.
