Colt U.S. Model 1911 A1, Caliber .45 ACP, Serial Number 7879XX.
A honey, not minty but very nice. The gun has no rust or pitting anywhere. It does have some holster wear on the left of the slide and some sharp edge and muzzle silvering and some thinning. The grip straps have no graying and there are no slide marks from the frame. Indicating that gun has seen little use. The heat treat marks are quite visible towards the front of the slide. All parts match and are correct for this serial number except the barrel. The grips are the correct small ring type and show no wear, chips, or cracks. The slide is "P" stamped on the top. The frame has the correct boxed WB inspectors mark above a stamped "P". The barrel is stamped P & F and is a wartime Flannery. The bore appears to be unfired as the rifling is very strong and sharp with no signs of graying. The gun comes with one "S" (Scovill) marked magazine. A great gun for the collector, re-enactor, or would be super on the range. $2975.
