Description:
The lockplate has US Springfield, Eagle and Shield and the date of 1865. The conversion is a first Allin Conversion which were converted from earlier muskets. 58 cal with 3/4" bbl. These bbls were "in the white". There was some sort of protective coating put on this that has mostly worn away. Possibly has been lightly cleaned. Metal is nice and looks good. Dark bore with good rifling but badly in need of a good cleaning. Action works well. Wood is very good cond but has been freshened up. Cartouche on the left side is barely visible.
