Winchester pre-64 Model 70 action made into a custom .223 varmint. This simple, but attractive, rifle has just become available out of the private collection of the gentleman who had it built. All his rifles were extremely accurate and meticulously put together. Made with a 24” medium weight barrel that has a .700” muzzle diameter and fitted to the model 70 action. The bolt has been fitted, tuned and engine turned so it is very smooth and fits flawlessly to the barrel. The trigger is set at 1 ½ lbs. The beautiful walnut stock is precisely bedded and has a 13 ¾” LOP over a 7/8” Pachmayr pad. The scope is a Leupold VX II 12 power with a fine duplex reticle on Leupold mounts. Overall weight is 9 lbs. 10 oz. The condition of the wood and metal is 98%+ (if not better!)
