This sight is marked 1876 on the top front of the ladder. It does not have any original finish. It is a brown/grey color overall. The dovetail base is in great condition and has not been filed on or messed with, so it should go right into an original sight slot. If you have a 76 with a broken rear sight, this is what you have been looking for. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.
