Payment Types Accepted: Money Orders or Cashiers Check Description: The metal has some surface patina, but is in very good condition and has retained much of its bluing. There is normal wear on the muzzle, cylinder and grips. Price: $4,495* circa: 1881 It has a Top-Break ejection system and a 1 & 7/16” chamber length which is chambered for Russian cartridges. It has an early model serial #2327. (All matching #’s on Butt, Cylinder, Barrel, and Top-Break Latch). The cylinder is fluted and has double sets of stop notches and long free grooves between the stops and a double latch lock up that is tight. The bore is frosted with complete rifling grooves. It has a 6 shot chamber and 61/2” ribbed barrel with fixed sites. There are double line patent dates on the top rail and all lettering is crisp including the serial numbers. There are initials etched into the fore grip of the frame which reads (ALS). It also sports the famed D trigger guard, with the round bottom butt and the grips are checkered hard rubber with the S&W monogram impression. This model is also referred to as a New Model Navy No.3 Revolver. This revolver was usually known simply as the .44 Double Action 1st Model. These models are the only large frame double action Top-Break revolvers that S&W made. Additional items include; tan leather holster, holster/revolver sheath, R-side grip (cracked & glued), L-side grip (broken) All of the .44 Double Action First Models were made before Jan. 1, 1899, so they are all antiques under Federal Law.
