Description:
This is an early version with no model markings and with the thumbnail safety. Gun is in the 74k serial range. An added bonus to this slide action is the cal which is 35 Rem. A very desirable caliber. Most finish remains on the receiver with just a couple of carry wear spots. Bbl has considerable blue with some wear at the muzzle. The bbl has Marbles sights added. A VG bore and slick action. The weakness of these guns was the way the buttstock attached to the frame. Most are cracked and this one does have several cracks coming off the frame in the wrist area. Wood is solid. Forearm is exceptional with no cracks or losses. Remington had success with their many variations of the slide action model 14 and these carbines are the hardest to find.
