Description:
This is a 1st type 2-trigger which were made in the late 1850's and early 60's. A rather limited production. As with most guns of the day these did see the Civil War. 24" oct bbl. Cal 44 RF. Equipped with sling swivels which was normal on a 1st type. A nice even dark brown antique patina on all metal. A hint of blue on the bbl. Buttstock shows it's age. Some shrinking at the buttplate and also towards the frame. One screw in the wrist area. Evidently an old repair. Tied on to this is an old gunsmithing tool. Good collectable gun for not a lot of money.
