Description:
This late 1890's mottled black 2 piece half split box wears red labels with black printing (Dunn UMC 8 L4). Top and side labels have seldom seen Smith & Wesson callout, recommendations and signature. Top shows light wear, mostly on box edges, side labels are cut, 99% readable. Box wears excellent condition 4-A bottom label with wear to box corners. This S&W is full with outside lubricated bullets in copper cases with U headstamp. Lead shows light oxidation mixed with lube. A rare find for the S & W display this box is very clean and will show well.
