Description:
Colt early Model 1849 Pocket in 31 caliber with 4" Barrel. This early version was made in 1851, as indicated by the serial number, and has the first style loading cut out in the barrel and the small trigger guard. The barrel address is the early two line Saml Colt New York City. All serial numbers match including the wedge and cylinder. The cylinder stagecoach scene is sharp, and the 5 half/ cock safety pins are all present. All the metal is rust and pit free, and a smooth faded blue/ brown. The brass grip frame has trace silver, and the walnut grips have original varnish with no cracks. Bore and cylinder chambers are as new, and are probably unfired. The action is very crisp, unworn, and functions perfectly. Please examine the photos closely to determine physical condition. N.J. residents will have to comply with state laws.
