Presumably this beautiful pistol was produced during that period. It is remarkable that this weapon is over 230 years old and is still in such fantastic condition. There are a few minor marks in the full walnut stock and what appears to be a professionally executed small repair on the right side at the very tip of the barrel. The hammer, lock and barrel are engraved, finished bright and in excellent condition. The lock is marked prominately with the makers name "MOODY", and the barrel is marked"LONDON" in sharp letters. The trigger guard, butt , side plate and escutcheon are all in brass and are very fancy with Royal/Military like designs. There are two prominent proof marks on the left side of the barrel opposite the hammer. The bore looks good. The frizzen is scratched indicating this gun has been fired but it obviously has seen little use and has been well cared for. There is a nice wooden ramrod. The barrel is 6" long and .65 caliber. The overall length is 11& 1/2 ". The hammer holds on full and 1/2 cock and the action is strong. This is one for the discriminateing collector. An antique so no FFL is required. Can be shipped direct.
