Description:
Holland & Holland Hammerless Rook Rifle "Ross". 360 No.5 (38 Long Colt).
26" original exterior barrel was bored to .410 at some point in it's life and is now lined back to 360 No.5 (bascially a 38 Long Colt). Original matting all along the top of the barrel, Winner of ALL the Field Trials on one side, 360 No.5 or .380 and H&H 98 New Bond Street on the other.
Bore is excellent.
Rear sight has one fixed (with Platinum line) and 2 folding sights.
Many proof/re-proof marks..
The barrel was re-blued when the liner was installed. Case colors have worn to a nice patina. Steel full butt plate and pistol grip cap.
Double underbite locking lug hammerless system.
Forend is paper thin with a horn end cap. Slight repair on forend as the top of right side, not surprising as the latch/spring is TIGHT and forend is not easily removed.
This is the TOP OF THE LINE rook rifle as Hammerless models are difficult to locate.
Auto Ejector works fine.
Gun is fully functional and is a lot of fun to shoot.
